Welcome To My Blog

Welcome To My Blog

Hello friends! Here you’ll find blog entries about life in New York, Central Americans in the U.S., social justice issues that need to be addressed and resources for learning. You’ll also find information about my work as a graduate student at the Oral History Master of Arts program at Columbia University.

My research centers on Central American refugees, asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors. The goal is to interview as many women as I can and collect their oral histories to shed light on the complex reasons why so many Central Americans from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala are fleeing their homes and what we can do to help.

Stay tuned for a blog about my recent volunteer work in Dilley, Texas for the CARA Pro Bono Project, an organization that provides legal services to women and children detained at the South Texas Family Residential Center.

You may be asking yourself, “what the heck is oral history?” Come back and check out a blog about what it is and how you can use some of the field’s concepts to document your own family’s story.

Every once in a while, I will also write a piece about social media and why it’s an important aspect of an individual’s personal and professional growth.

I am really excited to share all these things with you and so much more. Thank you for reading!

More Coming Soon
